The Rehabilitation Research Program is designated under the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute and has partnerships with both the University of British Columbia and the G.F Strong Rehabilitation Centre. The Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute comprises over 1500 personnel engaged in various facets of health based research in seven centers and three programs (of which the Rehabilitation Research Program is one). The intention of the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute is to have long lasting impacts on patient care and health care systems in British Columbia, and around the globe.
Through working with the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute, the Rehabilitation Research Program aims to discover innovative solutions to optimize the outcomes of rehabilitation and improve the lives of those with disabilities and their families. The knowledge generated through the Rehabilitation Research Program is an essential component of Vancouver Coastal Health’s mandate to advance knowledge and practices that help people to maximize their abilities after injury or disability.
